Daniel Boivin Obituary

Daniel Pierre Boivin, 77, of Bridgewater, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024. He was born on June 10, 1947, in Hartford, Connecticut, to the late Theodore and Laurette (Beauchemin) Boivin.

At the age of two, Dan's family moved to Plymouth, New Hampshire, where he grew up and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1965. He went on to attend Bentley College before beginning his career with Prudential Financial and served in the US Army Reserves from 1968 until 1972.

On June 22, 1968, Dan married Karen Lundquist, with whom he shared 56 years. Together, they built a life filled with family, friends, and cherished memories. Their journey together led them to several New Hampshire towns, including Meredith, Rochester, Gilford, Plymouth, and eventually Bridgewater.

Dan was a man who enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including skiing in his younger years, and more recently traveling, woodworking, collecting antique tractors and automobiles, and spending mornings with Karen at Annie's Overflow. His quick wit and talent for telling "dad jokes" endeared him to all who knew him.

Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Karen of Bridgewater, NH; his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Laurel of Concord, NH; Curtis and Erin of Exeter, NH; and Mark and MaryBeth of Charlestown, RI; his treasured grandchildren, Penelope, Pheobe, Amelie, Evelyn, Aidan, William, Loreal and Jenn; and great-granddaughter, Eloise. He also leaves behind his siblings, Helen Downing, Louise Cettina, and Phil Boivin; six nephews and a niece; and his cherished Model A Ford collection- affectionately named Gertrude, Scarlett, and Maj, and his reliable, albeit unnamed, Ford 8N Tractor.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Dan's honor to the Myelodisplastic Syndromes Foundation. Contributions can be made at https://secure.qgiv.com/for/myelodysplasticsyndromesfoundationinc

The family will hold a celebration of Dan's life at a later date, inviting all who knew and loved him to come together to honor his memory.

Dan's warmth, humor, and love for his family will be deeply missed.

On behalf of the White Mountain Model A Ford Club we extend our condolences to Karen and the entire Boivin family. It was a pleasure having Dan as a member of our club. Such a wonderful sense of humor, we will never forget the fun we had on our tours and at the Club BBQ. Sending along love from all the members.

I'll share a memory, weekend introducing him to my son. I introduced him as his great-uncle Dan. To which he replied, 'No. I am Uncle Dan the Great'.

Love you, Uncle Dan the Great
