DANBURY -- David C. Holmburg Sr., 69, died Dec. 19, 2009, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in White River Junction, Vt.
He was born in Manchester, to Carl and Jessie (Hill) Holmburg. He was raised and attended schools in Bristol before entering the U.S. Army. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a military police officer and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW.
He returned to the Bristol area in the 1980s to care for his aging parents.
He was a master plumber and owned and operated Bottom Line Plumbing and Heating.
He loved to travel as well as following NASCAR and NHRA, quarter-mile racing, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the NRA and a former Boy Scout.
Family members include five sons, Duane Holmburg of Andover, Ray Holmburg and Stuart Conn, both of Bristol, David Holmburg Jr. of Danbury and Eric Holmburg of New Hampton; one daughter, Paula Macon of Georgia; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his former wife and longtime friend, Jayne Davis of Danbury; and longtime companion, Terri Stiens of Willcox, Ariz.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Emmons Funeral Home, 115 South Main St., Bristol. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Bristol Baptist Church, Summer Street, Bristol. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association, 9 Cedarwood Drive, Unit 12, Bedford 03110 or the Department of Veterans Affairs, Unrestricted for Veterans Needs, 215 N. Main St., White River Junction, VT, 05009, Att: Voluntary Services.

I grew up with the Holmburg boys and there dad David Sr. He was such a wonderful and genuine guy! I remember the Java Surfer Cafe when David Sr. used to come in and make everyone's day. I am so sorry for your loss boys i know how much you loved your dad. My love goes out to the whole Holmburg family.
