Derek Michael Philbrick

MILFORD - Derek Michael Philbrick, born in Nashua, NH July 6, 1982, died unexpectedly May 6, 2016. He is lovingly remembered by his mother Zelda Philbrick (Malouin) and his father and best friend, Michael Philbrick.

He leaves his much loved and adored daughter Marley Philbrick. Time will never measure the loss of their loving relationship or the future of their endearing bond. Marley truly helped her Daddy find God.

He leaves behind a lifetime of memories with his two sisters Chelsea Philbrick and her fiance Juan Herrera and their son Josiah, and his sister Lexus Philbrick and her father, Marc Thomas. His maternal Grandparents, George and Mary Jane Malouin, Sr. Late paternal Grandparents Russell "Dizzy" and Doreen Philbrick and his late Aunt Kathy Philbrick Bleau. He is also survived by his caring and supportive Stepmother Gayle Philbrick. Derek will be sadly missed by his stepbrothers Jesse Martin and Ian Martin. His special stepbrother, Colton Davis and his thoughtful stepsister, Madison Davis. They will miss his presence. His Aunts and Uncles and cousins will share many memories of Derek, family gatherings, a game of Monopoly or a paddle on the lake.

Derek enjoyed sunsets, being grill master, fishing, HGTV, movies, a car enthusiast, county fairs, York Beach, Maine, playing horseshoes and swimming at the Horse Shoe.

He liked a wide range of music, from Reggae to Rock-n-Roll. His favorites were Bob Marley (his daughter's namesake) and Led Zepplin. Their song, "Thank You" was Derek's self-dedicated) Father-Daughter song.

Derek's youth was spent in Milford. He was schooled, played sports, swam the quarries and roamed the countryside.

For most of his adult life he enjoyed the trade as a Glazier, most recently at Glass Pro. Derek made many special friendships through this period of his life. All his friendships were genuine, especially the one he shared with his friends, Jeremy and Nicole Boisvert and their dear family.

Derek was a 13 year member of the American Legion-S.A.L. Post 23 in Milford and had many friends at the Manchester American Legion Posts.

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 28, at 3 p.m. at the Congregational Church at 10 Union St, Milford, NH followed by a gathering to celebrate the life of Derek at the American Legion at 15 Cottage St, Milford NH.
