Oneta Lates, 53, resident of Milford, NH, died on March 27, 2026, at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH, She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 7, 1972, in Vientiane, Laos, a daughter of the late Na and Boun Xavapy. Oneta came to this country when she was four years old. Her family settled in Lowell where she entered the public school system graduating in 1992 from Lowell High School. She continued her education at Middlesex Community College in Lowell, MA. in 1997 with an associates degree in Mental Health. Oneta went on to receive her LPN License and worked in several nursing homes caring for patients.
Her husband, Roger Lates, and her daughter, Mylene, live in Milford, NH. Oneta was a loving wife and mother who focused on her family at all times. She will be remembered for her deep concern for others, her love of dancing, her great enjoyment of nature while hiking and her times at the beach. Cooking was her joy and her specialty.
Survivors include her loving husband, Roger Lates of Milford, NH, her daughter, Mylene Lates also of Milford, NH, her six sisters, Keo, Kuntong, Kong, Gong, La, Vatsana and her one brother, Dao.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Merrimack Cremation Service, 10 Henry Clay Drive, Merrimack, NH. All are invited to meet directly there. Her burial will be private at a later date.
