Douglas deBruyn Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Douglas G. deBruyn shares news of his passing on February 1, 2024, in South Carolina, surrounded by his family. He was 73 years old.

Doug was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Catherine (Braid) and Theodore deBruyn.

Doug graduated from Arlington Technical High School and Northeast School of Broadcasting. He worked in the automotive industry for many years, as well as in broadcasting at WBZ Radio in Boston. He also owned and operated Mom's Garage in Manchester, New Hampshire for 21 years and built and remodeled homes throughout his life. He became a Freemason, earning the degree of Scottish Rite and enjoyed volunteering in his community. Doug semi-retired with his wife to South Carolina, continued working in the automotive world, and was elected as his local neighborhood representative.

Doug always had a curious nature, and was ambitious, easy-going and had a good sense of humor. He loved building, gardening, music, traveling with his wife and daughter, learning about history, his cats, and a delicious meal.

Doug was a loving husband, father, brother and friend and is deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Deniece (Champigny) of South Carolina; daughter Shelby and her husband, Brendan McCaughey of New Hampshire; sister Janice and her husband Jeffrey Ward, cousin Debra Donovan, and cousin Marina Mansi and her husband Lou, all of Massachusetts.

Donations can be made in Doug's memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (t2t.org) or the ASPCA (ASPCA.org" target="_new" rel="nofollow">ASPCA.org).
