Eugene Carreau Obituary

GOFFSTOWN - Eugene J. Carreau, 75, of Goffstown, passed away with his family by his side on Sept. 23, 2015, at Catholic Medical Center, after a short battle with cancer.

Born in Manchester, he was the son of David J. (Lillian) Carreau. He attended local schools and had been employed and retired from Country Furniture. Since his retirement, he worked part-time at the Goffstown Transfer Station.

Gene was an avid professional roller skater dating back to Pine Island, Bedford Grove, and was part-time employed at "Happy Wheels." He enjoyed woodworking, traveling (especially with his grandchildren), skiing and family gatherings.

He served six years in the National Guard and was activated during the Berlin Crisis in the early ‘60s.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pauline (Lavallee) Carreau; sons, Michael J. Carreau and wife Lorraine of Goffstown, Leo E. Carreau of Hampton; his two brothers, J. Armand Carreau and Donald Carreau, both of Manchester. He also leaves many nephews, nieces and friends.

He was predeceased by his sister, Pauline Snodgrass, Freddie Carreau, and brother-in-law "Andy" Lavallee.

At Mr. Carreau's request, his body has been donated to the Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine in Hanover.

There are no calling hours at this time. Memorial services and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
