Jane and David Peth. (Jane Weston). I grew up in Whitefield and will always have wonderful memories of Freddy and his family. Elgosin's Market was the mainstay of our town as was Freddy. He was a beautiful skater and ballroom dancer and, by the way, made great popcorn on the nights the band played on the common. I have often wondered what happened to the popcorn machine that was kept just behind the outside door to the right of the main door to the store and brought out to the sidewalk on those nights. Freddy was always faithful and if he could not be there, which was seldom, Charlie would be. I can STILL smell that popcorn!! Freddy will be remembered for his kindness to others and his smile. It would light up his face and those around him. Jane.

I am away at this time at my home in Brazil and have just heard the news of Fred's passing. I am so glad that I was able to have a phone conversation with Fred in the fall before I came to Brazil. Knowing Fred and working with him at The Spaulding Inn was pleasure. Rest in peace my friend.
