Henry R. Dion

BERLIN - Henry Richard Dion, 78, of Lancaster Street, entered into immortality with the aid of the sacraments of the Church on April 27, 2013, in his home.

Henry was born in Berlin, on Nov. 6, 1934, and was the son of Leo and Isabelle (Couture) Dion.

He attended Guardian Angel School and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Berlin.

On Sept. 13, 1958, he married Fernande Irene Bourassa of Berlin.

Retiring on Feb. 1, 1996, he worked as a paper maker for Brown Company/Crown Vantage in Berlin.

Henry served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 through 1957.

He was a member of Guardian Angel Parish which later became Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin.

His greatest love was his family which will miss him dearly. He was a very loving, caring and devoted father and husband. In addition to his family and faith, the joys of his life were drawn from hunting, fishing, golf and following the Red Sox.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Fernande Irene (Bourassa) Dion; and his son, the Rev. Richard H. Dion of Manchester; one brother, Thomas Dion of Warren, Mass.; three sisters, Pearl Aubin and her husband John of Three Rivers, Mass., and Yvonne Leeman and Doris Lauze, both of Thorndike, Mass.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Philip Dion.

services: Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday, April 29, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High St., Berlin.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Anne's Church of Good Shepherd Parish on Tuesday, April 30. Burial will follow at St. Kieran's Cemetery.
