James MacIntyre Obituary

James J. "Jimmy Mac" MacIntyre, 61, of Auburn, died June 22, 2024 at Brigham & Women's Hospital after a period of declining health, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Manchester, he was the son of the late Angus "Angie" and Joanne "JoJo" (Cragin) MacIntyre. He was educated in Manchester and was a graduate of Central High School. Jimmy worked for New England Telephone Co. / Consolidated Communications for 31 years before retiring as a Contract Work Inspector in 2013. He also worked at both Intervale and Derryfield Country Clubs.

Jimmy was an avid golfer and was a long time member of Intervale Country Club....An Icon! He and his wife Cathy enjoyed traveling together and winters in Florida. He was a competitive hockey player during his youth and has loved dancing his whole life. He enjoyed time spent camping, sitting by the fire and the pool, but time spent with his family is what he enjoyed the most. Jimmy's grandchildren meant absolutely everything to him and brought him the most joy in his life. He was a great man who lived his life to the fullest and knew how to turn your day around with even just a smile. Above all else, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Jimmy is survived his beloved wife of 29 years, Cathy A. (Gray) MacIntyre of Auburn; three step children, Michael Kelliher and partner Jae Ahn of DC, Ryan Kelliher of Londonderry and Kasey Rouille and husband Josh of Goffstown; two grandchildren, Jayda and Rylee Rouille of Goffstown; and one sister, Judith Paris and husband Donald of Auburn. He was predeceased by both parents.

Hi Judy, I don't know exactly what to say other than I'm very sorry for your loss. Whenever I saw Jim he had a great spirit and was a friend to everyone. I was glad to be a small part of his and your life growning up and I think we had a great time back in those days of Auburn village basketball and I think both Angus and Joanne enjoyed it also. I don't think anyone will forget Jim and will always think of him and smile. I hope you are able to continue to enjoy life as much as he did.
All the best

Mac was a stalwart on the Central Golf Team in the late 70´s. His excellent play contributed to annual City Championships. Mac was a joy to coach and we had a lot of laughs. Hit em straight through the pearly gates, Jimmy.
