Jeffrey Klein Obituary

Jeffrey Lewis Klein, age 57, of Manchester, NH, passed away at home on June 21, 2025.

Jeff was a devoted husband, brother, father, uncle, and friend, as well as a respected leader in the Jewish community.

He was born in Naples, Italy, to Gene and Sami Klein (both deceased) and grew up in Columbia, Maryland, with his sisters Pam and Lizzy Klein. He attended Centennial High School in Ellicott City and went on to earn a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Catholic University.

Jeff began his career as a civilian with the U.S. Army at Fort Belvoir, VA, and continued his work with the Army in Michigan, where he met his wife, Michelle. They later moved to New Hampshire when Jeff took a role at DEKA Research to work on a groundbreaking wheelchair design. Most recently, he worked at Tecomet.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Michelle Rosenthal; his sisters Pam Klein (married to Chris Botka) and Lizzy Klein; nieces Eloise and Imogene Botka; mother-in-law Rose Ann Rosenthal; and siblings Jeff and Barbara Rosenthal, Brenda Rosenthal and Eric Moss, and Neal and Cindee Rosenthal.

He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Nicole Rosenthal and Matt Bischoff, Elayna and Daniel Fleishman, Daniel and Sana Rosenthal, Marly and Drew Wolf, Michael Rosenthal and Rebecca McNicol, Alex Zack, and Rachael and Andrew Nathan; and by great-nephews Henry, Patrick, Avi, Izzy, Connell, and Theodore.

He was predeceased by his parents, Gene and Sami Klein; his daughter, Nicole Klein; and his father-in-law, Bernard Rosenthal.

Jeff became a Bar Mitzvah at Temple Isaiah in Columbia, Maryland. He continued attending services over the years and became more actively involved after moving to New Hampshire, ultimately serving as president of Temple Israel in Manchester.

He also mentored future engineers through FIRST Robotics and volunteered his time generously.

Jeff led with humor and a spirit of service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held at Temple Israel at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 23, followed by a graveside service at the Manchester Hebrew Cemetery and a reception at Temple Israel.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Temple Israel, 66 Salmon St., Manchester, NH 03104, the New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, NHCADSV, P.O. Box 353, Concord, NH 03302-0353 , or the New Hampshire Food Bank, 700 E. Industrial Dr., Manchester, NH 03109. Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family with Jeff's services.
