Joan Herz Obituary
She was born in New York City, NY on October 3, 1923 the daughter of John and Mary (Carmody) Volk. She graduated from Ridgefield Park High School, Ridgefield Park, NJ in 1936.
While residing in NJ she had been a secretary and after moving to NH she had been the owner of Lakeside Lodge and Cottages on Lake Sunapee in New London for 23 years. Joan had lived in New London since 1964 before moving to Unity.
She had been a member of the New London Hospital Auxiliary, a trustee of Tracy Memorial Library, a member of Friends of Tracy Memorial Library, active in Kearsarge Area Council on Aging and volunteered at St. Andrew's Thrift Shop.
Her husband, Alfred C. Herz, died in 1977. She is survived by cousins residing in NJ.
There will be no services. Burial will be in West Part Cemetery, New London, NH.
Chadwick Funeral Service of New London, NH is handling arrangements.
