As a kid I grew up near Derryfield Market in the 50’s through the 70’s and remember the entire Pigeon family. I remember when Joan was at the cash register she never waited on a customer without a huge smile on her face and exhibited a lot of patience even when she had to tend to young boys like me and my friends who were either cashing in a bag full of Coke bottles for 2 cents each or ogling over the candy bars or grabbing popsicles from their self serve freezer. Richard was always in the back behind the meat counter. Wonderful memories of that store and family.
