John C. Brown

1934 - 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of John Carter Brown announces his sudden passing on October ninth at the age of 87.

John was born in Goffstown, New Hampshire and he spent his entire life in the surrounding area as the founder and owner of John C. Brown and Sons in Weare, New Hampshire.

John will be remembered for his quick witted jokes, his entertaining stories and his unfailing work ethic. Besides spending time with family and friends John dearly enjoyed sharing his family recipes with his grandchildren, playing golf, horseshoes, woodworking, whistling a soft tune and playing guitar. In his younger years John was a fast and accurate softball pitcher, known by many as "Big John."

John supported the community through his School Board service and donation of the John C Brown Track and Field in Goffstown. He was a perpetual inventor with his greatest accomplishment being the production and distribution of the Brown Brontosaurus.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his adoring wife Rolanda. John is survived by his six children John A. Brown, Michael Brown, Cindy Lavigne, Brenda Smith, Chuck Brown, Janet Warren, and his two step children Tonya Sheets and Tony Sheets; as well as twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and his dog Lucy.

John was predeceased by his parents Ruth Gay Brown and Harold Carter Brown and his sister Beatrice Louise Hall. He also leaves behind his siblings - Barbara Charbonneau, Beverly Massey, Betty Tyson and William Brown.
