John Jacobs Obituary
Dr Jacobs graduated from Harvard University and became an M.D. in psychiatry. Dr. Jacobs had a private practice in psychiatry, located in Manchester. He was loved both by his patients and his colleagues in the medical field.
John enjoyed spending time with his wife, and enjoyed their travels together. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Rory. John was a passionate New York Yankees fan and he and Melodie would watch every game together and attend many in person. John was also very passionate about astronomy, Ufology, and was an avid reader. He also enjoyed going to the symphony and opera with his wife, Melodie. John was loved and will be missed by many.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the exceptional staff at the Elliot Hospital.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his daughter: Alicia Jacobs Porkka; his step-daughter: Mary-Clare Soares and her husband Philip; his two sisters: Margaret Meuhlbradt and Mary Pressman; his two grandchildren: Rory Matregrano, Ruth Leslie Porkka; and his three nephews and one niece: Michael Muelbradt, Eric Muehlbradt, Leif Pressman, Ruby Pressman.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street in Manchester from 4pm to 6pm. There will be no burial at this time.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Dr, John Jacobs saved my life 9 years ago. I looked for every month talking with him by far one of the best doctors out there, that was him.
He is the type of person that really cares about his patience like family.
Whenever I was sad, he´d always crack a joke. I´ll never forget his humorous ways and how he saved me in so many different ways. I´ll never forget him.
He didn´t treat me like a number like most doctors do today. He had the best bedside manner. He was one of a kind and my favorite doctor for all eternity.
He meant the world to me and I´ll forever cherish him in my heart. I will do my best to keep his name alive.
He reminded me of my grandfather on top of all things.
I am so lucky to have had him for as long as I did. So blessed.
I´m so sorry for everyone´s loss.
May he rest in peace and kowing he saved so many people. I know he will be at peace just knowing that.
God bless him and all of you that have been affected by such a terrible loss.
He was so loved and so sweet. It was an absolute honor, loving him and having him for my Doctor No one will ever add up to him. That´s for sure.

This man saved my life 20 years ago.. I looked forward monthly to our conversations about life, movies , politics, medical advice.. Such a intelligent person, charming and truly cared for his patients.. They don't make them like him anymore, He will be missed by so many .. I know Alot of people are alive because of this man's compassion, any family members reading this need to know how much he saved people's life's , help mend broken family, truly amazing person , someone I have admired since I met him. Respectfully sorry for y'all's loss

Dr. Jacob's was my psychiatrist for almost 15 years. I can't say enough about the good nature of this man. We lost an exceptional human being. People like Dr. Jacob's aren't very common and to say he will be missed just doesn't cover it. My sincere condolences to the family.
