John Lawrence Russo

1949 - 2021

John Lawrence Russo, 72, of Chester, NH, passed away Saturday October 23, 2021, in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. He was born on April 10, 1949 in Somerville, MA, a son of the late Marguerite (Lowe) and Lawrence Russo Sr. John retired from General Electric in Lynn, MA where he was the Manager of Machine Tools and Facilities at Plant IV. He was affectionately known as Johnny, Dad, Papa and the Fixer. Johnny personified the term "Mechanic". From a young age, he watched and learned how mechanical things worked. As he grew up, he learned how to fix anything and HE DID! He was a "Johnny" of all trades, Rosie's Project Boy. Most of all John loved to spend time with his Rosie and their growing family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Rosemary (McShane) Russo, their three children, Lauren Anne Russo, Shannon Marie Russo, and Brian John Russo; two grandchildren, Brioni John Payano and Saige Valerie Plumer; one great granddaughter, Dhalia Love Plumer; three sisters, Gladys "Cookie" Kearney, Evelyn Dawe and Nancy Russo; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents and five siblings, George "Sonny" Small, Lawrence Russo Jr., Helen Bergman, Marion Small and Carole Talbot.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 9 - 11 AM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH followed by funeral services at 11am in the funeral home. Mask usage will be optional. The burial will follow at Great Hill Cemetery, Rt. 121A, Chester, NH.
