Kevin Howe Obituary

Kevin Scott Howe, 57 of Merrimack NH died peacefully at the Merrimack Hospice House from a brief illness on February 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Kevin was born in Nashua NH on January 14, 1965. Son of Tom and Patricia (Gallant) Howe. Kevin a lifelong resident of Merrimack NH and graduated from Merrimack High School in 1984. Throughout Kevin's life he has worked 40+ years for the family business, Tom Howe Septic and Excavation. Later in life he also operated a small engine repair business. Kevin was a very talented mechanic and will always be remembered for wearing his Tom Howe T-shirt, green dickies which always had a red rag hanging from the pocket. Most knew Kevin for always making them laugh. He was great with joke telling, quoting movie lines or reenacting skits from the Three Stooges. Outside of work, Kevin enjoyed airplanes and attending air shows. As a volunteer of the Collings Foundation, he had opportunities to fly in a B-17, B-24 and B25. Kevin was also a huge fan of the New England Drag races. There weren't many events he missed. An avid outdoorsman, one of his favorite pass times was fishing, trout fishing mostly. He knew all the good spots to fish. Kevin also enjoyed hunting waterfowl, turkey and deer. Kevin was an expert in using reed calls. He could call in a flock of geese miles away to just feet in front of him. At home he enjoyed growing a garden, hanging plants to attract the hummingbirds and he loved to cook. He was the crockpot king! He will be sadly missed spending time with family and friends up in Whitefield NH at the family camp. There are many memories and stories throughout the years. Especially those with his dad, brothers and friends when building the camp, just sitting on the porch and hunting the area. Camp has always been a place to gather and get away from it all. He enjoyed that. Kevin is predeceased by his grandparents, Henry and Rose (Lambert) Gallant of Nashua, and his uncle, Gary "Unc" Howe of Merrimack. Kevin is survived by his loving parents, Tom and Patricia (Gallant) Howe, his two brothers and sister-in-law's, Kenny and Joey Lee Howe, Keith and Denise Howe, his nephew Jake Howe and fiancé Jill Brouillette, and his niece Maegan Howe and her significant other Conner Fike all from Merrimack NH. He also leaves behind an uncle and aunt, Robert and Diane Gallant of North Carolina and Ernie and Lorania Gallant of Cannan NH along with cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held on Wed. Feb. 9, 2022 in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack NH from 5pm to 8pm. A Funeral service will be held 8pm. A private burial in last Rest Cemetery will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that you donate to your favorite charity in Kevin's name.

I remember Kevin from spending wonderful times growing up with the Howe Family in early years of life. Kevin was always strong and had a heart of doing the right thing. He was hard working and dedicated to family. I remember joyous times of playing hard and working hard. He was a good example for all of us growing up around him, and he kept us safe from ourselves many times. He loved the red Chevelle SS. My heart is with the family for his loss. Please know he will always be remembered for his kind and loving heart. My God's blessing be with you during this time of remembrance.

We are shocked and saddened to hear of Kevin´s passing. Kevin & Keith were a huge help when we suddenly started having septic issues. They showed up at the drop of a hat with a smile on their face. My sons favorite part of the day is watching them drive by so he could signal for the air horn. He will be missed. Praying for peace and comfort in this sad time.
RIP Kevin.

We are so very sorry for the loss of such a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend. Kevin has been such a great neighbor to have right next door. We loved running out donuts to him while he was mowing the lawn or asking him questions about how to make our mopeds go faster. His smile and laugh were infectious! We will miss his stories about the neighborhood bear and his encounters with his beloved hummingbirds. He will be greatly missed in our little neighborhood and beyond. There isn't a more generous or kind person, he truly was one of a kind. Rest easy "Uncle Kevin"

I have been friends with Kevin for a long time. A hard worker he enjoyed going to the races and chatting with my father. Always in his Tom Howe uniform,I don’t think in the years I’ve known him he had other clothes to wear. I’ll miss him pulling out of Longa’s waving to me. Keep on trucking Kevin I’m sure there’s a drag strip waiting for you have a drink with Betty White.

February 5, 2022

Tom & Pat, Our deepest sympathy. The times I met Kevin he was always smiling, joking, and willing to help. A few years ago time he came over to the Whitefield house when I was mowing. The grass was very tall and he asked if I needed any help? I said I know you are busy, but thank you. He said no problem and started mowing and with his help we had everything mowed in an hour, which normally would take 5 hours, and asked if there was anything else he could do. This is one example of who Kevin was; always willing to help and put others first, just like his Dad. Tom & Pat you must be very proud of Kevin and the life he lived by making others laugh & the kind & gentle heart he had by helping others. May God Bless Kevin and the Howe family. Kevin rest in peace. Rick & Mary
