Nicholas Moccia Obituary

Nicholas A. Moccia "Nick", 91, passed away on September 20, 2022 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. He was born December 15, 1930 in Boston, MA, son of the late Mary (Tarantino) Moccia-who died when Nick was very young, and Salvatore Moccia.

Nick grew up in Boston, MA and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. He enlisted into the United States Navy and served honorably during the Korean War. Later, utilizing the GI Bill, he attended Northeastern University. Nick throughout his younger professional career was a self-employed general contractor in the construction field. Later, he handled the building maintenance at a large property in Cambridge, MA. Once that property was sold, Nick worked numerous odd jobs for others residentially and commercially with Paul McCoy, and an earlier GC project in Salem, MA. Most admirably though, Nick enjoyed helping others, especially those that were down on their luck. When Nick was a young adult, he helped homeless children find work and shelter in the Jamaica Plain area. He married Carol Lee Morse on August 15, 1997 after enjoying and appreciating their dating relationship since 1986. They were longtime residents of Raymond, NH and landlords for a number of those years.

Nick loved the outdoors and all animals. He would rescue any animal in need and he enjoyed plants wherever he saw them. Nick was an avid book reader and he enjoyed cooking.

He was a member of the Hurd-Welch American Legion Post#90 in Raymond.

In addition to his parents, Nick was predeceased by his brother, Robert Moccia and his sister, Deanna Moccia.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Lee Moccia, many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his brother, Salvatore Moccia and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 2:00-6:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, NH.

At a later date, burial will be in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the NH SPCA, PO Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885.
