Peter Batula Obituary
He was born in Harrisburg, PA on April 27, 1937, to the late Stojan and Mildred Batula.
From a very humble beginning in rural Pennsylvania, Peter was able to rise up and become a senior leader at the H.J. Heinz Company, a proud member of the New England Patriots advisory board for over 10 years, and a State Representative and committee Chairman at the State House in Concord representing Merrimack, NH for 14 years after retirement.
Although a very distinguished, proud and active member of his community, Peter's first love, passion and trait was his amazing devotion and love for his family and his commitment to his faith, his church and God. Peter was a true inspiration to all that were lucky enough to get to know him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years Janice Batula; son Jeffrey Batula (Alyssa); daughters Carrie Morris and Jennifer Collins (Robert); and his sister, Maryann Otto. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Derek Batula (Lauren), David Batula (Holly), Amanda Lacroix (Zachary), Shannen Batula, Madeline Collins, Audrey Collins, and Robert Collins; as well as 5 precious great-grandchildren and a 6th due in December. He was predeceased by his brothers Dushan, Nicholas, Stephen, and George, his sister, Ann, and his son-in-law, Thomas Morris.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 172 King St. Boscawen, NH. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 24, at 9 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private.

Dear Jan, (the lovely Mrs. B) I was very sad to learn of the passing of your beloved husband, Peter.
He was such a gentleman to all. Peter enjoyed working with my 4th grade Reeds Ferry School students in the classroom to teach them the importance of voting and how laws are passed. He would then greet us on the day of our field trip to the Concord State House. As a fun bonus, he would always give each kiddo a pickle pin!
I do remember our fun times working together at St. James Preschool and then the lunchroom at Reeds.
You are an amazing woman. My love and best to you and your wonderful family. We shared so many good times together. Peter will be missed.

It is an honor to call you Dad. My rock, my guide, my mentor. There was so much pleasure in pleasing you. I know that you are in heaven as your faith was your guide. God Bless you all for your comments. I am beyond honored to call him my Father, and will do everything within my power to carry on his amazing legacy...But that will be tough! One amazing man. I had the honor of being Pete's pastor for several years here in Pennsylvania, until he and Janice moved back to New Hampshire. I loved our time together. He was a kind and gentle soul and we hit it off from day one. He was firm and strong in his faith of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and as Peter says in 1 Peter 3:15...Our Pete was solid in the fundamentals of the faith: "always be ready to give the reason for the hope that you have, but do this with gentleness and respect." His hope was in Christ, and Him crucified. I'll see Pete again some day, but until then, understand that he is having better days than we could ever imagine. My love to Janice and the family. Rev. Uncle Pete has been among my most influential role models while growing up. In the company of his brothers and sisters, portrayed a strength of family unity that is strong in me today. His view of life, faith and in the way he lived, I know is strong in his immediate family. My heart and prayers are with my NH kin.

I can honestly say I am so lucky to have had Mr. Pete picked me to be his Barber, here in New England School of barbering. Many times Pete walked right in the barbershop and sat in the chair and told me to cut his hair. Hahaha!!! and I loved it every time.
Mr.Pete, I will miss you. Rest in Peace, my friend, and don't you worry, the angels with be watching over your lovely family. God Bless all you guys.

I remember my 3rd grade class took a field trip to an airport. As it turned out Uncle Pete was there to catch a flight at the same time. He came up to our little group and tapped me on the shoulder. I turned and looked waaay up to see this tall, impressive looking businessman in a suit. I hope you have a good time, he said with a big, gentle smile. I just stood there with my mouth open, trying to speak as I realized who it was. He made me feel so important. He waved as he hurried off and I remember wanting to run after him. Through the years, as I learned of his many accomplishments, I was so very proud of him, but when all is said and done, he was just my funny, down-to-earth, family-first Uncle Pete. I have so many mories of Mr. B. All good. Sitting in his chair was always the best as a kid and seeing him chuckle and smile ❤.Elbows off the table I remember the day he had given me a banana seat bike. I loved that thing! I cherished being in the wood shop with him showing me how to operate saws n such to make different things. So many positive memories with Mr. B.
