Rene Gagnon Obituary
He was predeceased by his parents. His dad was Iwo Jima flag-raiser Rene Arthur Gagnon, Sr. and his mother was Pauline G. Harnois.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy a Lockrow Gagnon; children Sarah (Jason) Marcotte, Heather (Scott) Cady, Rebecca (Shannon) O'Dell, Joshua (Jason Rothwell); and seven grandchildren, Dakota and Keegan Robinson, Hannah and Payton Cady, Ryleigh, Kaylei, Kennedy O'Dell
SERVICES: A celebration of life will be held at the Eggshell restaurant in Loudon New Hampshire on Saturday, January 29, from 3:30 to 7 p.m.
In lieu flowers donations can be made to Franklin Animal Shelter in his name

I'm so saddened to hear of Rene's passing. Although we had not spoken in a long time we always got along very well I had dated his amazing daughter Heather for a while .... I will always fondly remember the Christmas dinner I had over his and Paulines house. Heather brought me over and as I was removing my boots on the porch I asked Heather and her mom why there were pictures of the flag raising . From the living room boomed "Well, let me tell you about those ." And we had many conversations about his incredible father. I cooked a prime rib and brought it over to dinner and it was a wonderful time , Pauline and Rene and Heather were top notch people and I've often wondered how they ....Heather especially were doing . I should have reached out sooner and for that I'm sorry. I'm sixty now but it seems like yesterday I spent that wonderful Christmas over their house. I pray for peace and prosperity to the family and hello to Heather we parted as friends and still are in my thoughts .

Rene Jr. was so very special in helping rescue helpless dogs and finding them homes. Even though I lived more than 1,000 miles from Rene, he helped me locate a special dog and adopt it. Condolences to Rene´s wonderful wife and members of his fine family!

Rene was one of our better siding applicators when working at Custombilt, Inc. in Manchester. He was always a gentleman when he came into the office to pick up his paycheck. I am sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Rene.

It was a true pleasure and honor to know Rene and his family. We had a few precious meetings with him in NH and many wonderful memories of he and his family's visits to us in CT. He shared may of his thoughts and opinions with us about Iwo Jima and his father. He and his father will be remembered and honored in our Iwo Jima Museum. We miss you!

I´m going to miss you so much my friend. We didn´t visit each other or families a lot but we´re good friends. We were Facebook friends and shared memories, pictures, had chats, and enjoyed just being friends. Please watch over all your family. I love you Rene, love your friends the Avery´s. The lord too you away from us too soon. Even though I didn´t see you often, we became Facebook friends and talked, shared memories, pictures and had chats.
