Hi Folks,
Denise, Marsha, Helene, Tim,
When I think of Uncle Dick I remember camping at Keoka, sand in my eye, blankets all in a row, movies on a sheet, beans, ya beans, ya in the crock and sold at the family reunion all proceeds to go towards the next one. Oh, and the huge bottle of champagne at the Dominos in New York, got a little rainy and then, oh ya, the pool, before and after, eek that was funny. It was hard to count the gallons as they went by so quickly. Good thing my tent wasn't there. Sitting in a living room in New York with the elders, well the older than I siblings and chatting, yup that's what we were doing , chatting and laughing , alot, names omitted , you know who you are. Opeechee Park, softball games with cheerleaders, and the ultra famous silent auction. The name was the only silence about this wonderful tradition. Yep, the barn doors, iconic. I remember being a autioneer one year and there were an ever increasing quantity of things being hoarded by some guy named " No Bidder" German guy I think ! Well I had to bring everyones attention to him so as not to let him get away with the pearls of the event. I think I said something like, Wow !! this No Bidder guy is really cleaning up. To which a concerted effort was made to loose the gentleman from his cache. I'm lauging now as I write. Eating far to much because you didn't know if the offerings were going to be there at the next one. And as I grew up the youngins kept getting older and I wasn't, could never quite understand the physics on that. I"m getting it now though, I was in denial, hmm , still am. Tim I remember at an event watching your two children by the pool while mom and dad took a rest at the hotel we were staying at. Well, many many memories of FAMILY guess that is what it all adds up to. One big family , each pc. a unique part of the whole, different yet an important part of the whole, FAMILY ! Well, from diapers to diapers , for my piece, I'll just say thanks for the memories ! It's a great ride !
Love to you all !!!

Dearest Cousins : I am very sorry for the loss of your special dad "Uncle Dick", as I, brother and sister called him. Though I never got to visit with him much over the years, when I did it was a treat...as he was a very special man. Funny, witty and just a nice man he was. And I heard he was a good cook in addition to a great father and worker. In my mind he was "cool", like Steve McQueen. Rest in peace "UNCLE DICK" as you join your beloved wife Aunt Jeannine. Nephew Steve.

So sorry for your loss, but be joyful in the many years you have had with him. We always wish we had one more day and forever is never quite long enough.
