Ronald Aragona Obituary

Dr. Ronald J. Aragona, DC, 81, of Amherst, NH, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025.

Born in New York, NY, on May 12, 1944, he was the son of Paul C. Aragona, Sr. and Marie Antoinette (Cusimano) Aragona. Raised in New York, Dr. Aragona eventually made his home in Amherst, New Hampshire, where he lived for over four decades, building a life rooted in service, family, and intellectual passion.

A pioneer in his field, Dr. Aragona earned his degree from Columbia Chiropractic College and went on to become a leading voice in chiropractic medicine. He was the founder and president of Applied Spinal Biomechanical Engineering, a discipline he developed through extensive research and practical innovation. He authored eight textbooks and lectured across the United States, Canada, and Australia. He was a proud member of numerous professional and intellectual organizations dedicated to the advancement of chiropractic care. Plaques and honors commemorating his service and achievements could be found proudly displayed along the walls of his office, a testament to his lifelong commitment to the profession and to those he served. His contributions continue to influence postgraduate chiropractic education today.

Dr. Aragona devoted his professional life to helping others through his practice, the RJ Aragona Spinal Orthopedic Chiropractic Health Center in Manchester, NH. He took great pride in his work and deeply valued the relationships he built with his patients. Known for his quiet compassion and distinct sense of humor, he brought both expertise and warmth to his daily interactions.

Ron was a man of many talents and passions. In addition to his scientific mind, he was a gifted artist with a flair for painting, drawing, and interior design. His eye for detail extended to his appreciation of antiques, and he was a longtime fan of the Antiques Roadshow. He also enjoyed the thrill of extreme sports, albeit from the comfort of his favorite chair. One of his greatest pleasures was dining out with his beloved wife, Guylaine, whether discovering new restaurants or savoring familiar favorites, their shared meals were moments of joy, connection, and quiet celebration.

Above all, Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His greatest joy came from the happiness of his family. Whether gathered around the dinner table or sharing a moment, he cherished every opportunity to be present with those he loved. His gentle strength, deep intelligence, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-four years, Guylaine (Rouleau) Aragona; six children, Ronald J. Aragona, Jr. of Wylie, TX, Jason Aragona and his wife, Therese, of Sarasota, FL, Bradford Aragona and his wife, Jennifer, of Raleigh, NC, Danielle Donavan and her husband, Michael, of Wilmington, NC, Shani Valdez and her husband, Ike, of Jaffrey, NH, and Conan Valente of Crestview, FL; six grandchildren; his brother, Paul C. Aragona, Jr. of Westerlo, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

At Dr. Aragona's request, no formal services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

The Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH, has the honor of assisting the family.

To Guylaine and family,
I was heartbroken to hear of Dr Aragnona sudden passing. For years he was a vital part of my well being and looked forward to 3-4x weekly visits. Beyond his incredible skill as a chiropractor, I will fondly remember the many engaging conversations on everything from politics, movies to current events. He was truly a kind, patient, and caring individual who was so dedicated to his patients, often going above and beyond. Always showing a unique kindness to those with disabilities, which speaks volumes about his character. And I have to mention, while never missing a day of work...His consistent, daily care was unique and invaluable service that helped countless people struggling with physical ailments and his absence will be profoundly felt. HIs loss leaves a significant void and he will be remembered as a pillar of strength, and compassion in our community and those he care for. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Karen Healy

Dad, you were a man of sharp intellect, tireless dedication, and genuine humor. You poured yourself into your work as a chiropractor with discipline and care, always striving to help others. As a family man, you led with quiet strength, and your deep, unwavering love for Mom was at the center of everything you did. Your legacy is one of integrity, thoughtfulness, and wit—and we are proud to carry it forward. We love you so much and will miss you.

So sad to hear of Dr A´s passing. Our visits to his office were always more than just an adjustment. They were educational, entertaining and compassionate. And who could leave without eating some jelly beans at his insistence? It´s been many years since we´ve been in but we always had fond thoughts of him, his wife and his office.
Our condolences, The Kay Family.

I just found out that Dr. Aragona passed away this afternoon. I was a patient of his for 26 years. He kept my back in check sine 1999 after being referred to him by my friend Ned Shelton. Thanks Doc for the care that you gave me over the last two and a half decades. You will be missed. R.I.P.

I will always be grateful for Dr. Aragona's brilliance, spinal adjustments and compassionate care. He not only corrected my primary vertebral problem, but identified and treated more issues no other doctors diagnosed. He helped me avoid spine surgery and saved me from much pain. I moved to FL 10 years ago, and have met people who need chiropractic care. I've always told them I know the best chiropractor, but you'd have to go to New Hampshire. My condolences to the family.

Love you, Dad. As said by J.K Rowling, “To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.” You will be dearly missed. To the next great adventure you must go, as we are called to do at some point in our lives. Aptly stated by Ralph Waldo Emerson, “It is not length of life, but depth of life.” Though I would have liked to have had you around for longer, how fortunate you, and we, were to have enjoyed length of life with you. Furthermore, how blessed you were to experience depth of love when it came to your work and to Mom, whom I know you loved more than anything. May you find each other again! Rest in peace for you have indeed lived your life, done your work, and have now hung your hat as Henry David Thorough puts it, beginning your next great adventure -Shani

I'd like to offer my deepest sympathy to the Aragona family. I knew Dr Aragona (Ron) as a youth growing up and spending time at their house. They are like another family to me and I know Ron will be sorely missed. He was always so welcoming and someone to look up to.

Sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Aragona. We knew him back in the early 1980's when we attended his "pay what you can" chiropractic clinic on Webster Street. We have many fond memories of those "adjustments" made to our spines to help us to feel our best. It was almost family-like when we would all attend sessions together. Those were certainly "the good old days". May you rest in peace.
