Stephen Leafe Obituary

Manchester, NH - Stephen M. Leafe 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Bedford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Manchester, on January 7, 1938 he was the son to the late, Fred and Wilma (Roberts) Leafe. He was a graduate of Central High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army from 1961-1962. He later retired from the Army National Guard after achieving the rank of first sergeant after 21 years of service.

Stephen worked for Manchester Water Works for 36 years as a dedicated supervisor.

As an advocate for youth sports, Stephen coached many local youth teams throughout the years. Some of his favorite memories were those made coaching his children. Stephen was also a proud founding member of the Manchester South Sabres Youth Football Team.

In his younger years, Stephen enjoyed the challenge of pocket watch and clock repair. He also collected military memorabilia throughout his years of service. Above all, spending time with those close to him was most important.

Stephen is survived by his three children, Michael Leafe and his wife, Jane of Manchester, Ann-Marie Bishop of New Boston, and James Eric Leafe also of Manchester; six grandchildren, Tucker, Thomas, Amber, Austin, Zachary and Ashleyanne; four siblings, Don, Sandy, Kenny and Jaye. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by five siblings, Buddy, Betty, Natalie, Janet and Judy and most importantly his loving wife of 53 years Lorette.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday (9/3) from 3 to 7pm at Lambert Funeral Home and Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, NH. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday (9/4) at 11:00am in The New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH with military honors. Mike, Ann, Jimmy,

My deepest sympathy to you and the Leafe family. I was very sad to hear about the lost of your father. Your father's impact on our lives will always be cherished, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He had a great sense of humor and he will be missed.

Keeping you all in my thoughts & prayers. R.I.P. Steve

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Leafe family. Always enjoyed working with Steve on construction projects. His greeting of a forearm to the chest opposed to a handshake always sent me back a few feet. He enjoyed that.
