NASHUA -- Zygmunt C. Raskiewicz, Jr., 78, of Nashua, died Aug. 22, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born Aug. 20, 1930, in Nashua, to Zygmunt C., Sr. and Wilhelmina (Barnatovich) Raskiewicz. He was raised in Merrimack and was a graduate of Nashua High School in 1949. He resided in Nashua for the past 51 years.
He served during the Korean War in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He was employed as a truck driver most of his life. He retired as a driver from ABF Transportation Co.
He was an antique car enthusiast, and owned a 1929 Model A coupe (among others). He enjoyed traveling to car shows, and flea markets. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Nashua.
Family includes his wife of 46 years, Alma (Brodeur) of Nashua; two sons, Charles J. Raskiewicz of Nashua, and Michael E. Raskiewicz and his wife Melissa of Manchester; a beloved granddaughter, Rebecca Claire Raskiewicz of Manchester; a brother, Edward Raskiewicz of Merrimack; a sister, Ruth Raskiewicz of Nashua; and a brother, John Raskiewicz of Nashua, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at George R. Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack. A Mass of Christian burial is Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 777 W. Hollis St. in Nashua, and burial will follow at Last Rest Cemetery of Merrimack.

Aunt Alma, Cousin Chuck and Cousin Mike: I am very sorry for your loss. When I think of Uncle Ziggy I smile because I remember how much my father used to love to go ice fishing with him. They had some wonderful times together.
