SPRINGFIELD – Orval Franklin Snapp II, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 13 in The Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield, Ohio.
Orval was born on Feb. 26, 1945 in Springfield, Ohio, to Mildred Vera (Bothwell) and Orval Franklin Snapp.
He was a 1963 graduate from Graham High School in St. Paris, Ohio.
Orval was a proud member of New Hope Church in Springfield and a dedicated member of St. Andrews Masonic Lodge #619 F. & A.M., Springfield, Ohio.
After serving his country in the United States Army Reserve, he worked for Hobart Mfg. as a spray painter. In his free time, he had a passion for bowling, billiards, NASCAR, and was fond of spending quiet moments assembling puzzles. He was also a big fan of smoking cigars and listening to Pink Floyd.
He is survived by his beloved former wife, Vickie Lynn (Dyke) Snapp-Zettler; sons, Gregory (Tina) Snapp and David (Megan) Snapp; his grandchildren, Britney Snapp and Dillon Snapp.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, 2025 in ATKINS-SHIVELY-VERNON FUNERAL HOME, St. Paris, Ohio.
Memorial services will immediately follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Moehn officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of the funeral home.
