SPRINGFIELD – Terry K. Sherman, 71 of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Terry was born on Oct. 21, 1953 in Champaign County, Ohio, to the late Manuel and Dixie (Rice) Sherman. He was a 1972 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, attended Urbana University, and finished his degree online. He was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Springfield. He loved singing for the Lord, leading the church choir, telling people about Jesus, rooting for THE Ohio State Buckeyes and spending time with his family and friends.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Julie, of 30 years; daughter, Amber (Justin) Whitlow; sons, Ian (Sara) Sherman, Adam (Hailey) Stewart, Canyon (Kenzie) Bostick; 14 grandchildren, whom he adored, Caleb, Avery, Wyatt, Elija, Addison, Oliver, Everley, Sammy, Nehemiah, Harper, Wrenley, Trinity, Caylee, and Mackie; mother-in-law, Judy Black; sisters-in-law, Tena Shafer, Barbara Sherman, Diane Sherman, Goldie Sherman; brothers-in-law, Gerry Shafer, Roger Fultz, Rick Michael, Larry Hampton, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents; son, Caleb Sherman; siblings, Bill (Elouise) Sherman, Betty (Dick) Hill, Benny (Mary) Sherman, Bob (Ilene) Sherman, Bert (Janet) Sherman, Jane (Bernie) Tull, Janet Shipley, Glendine Fultz, Ed Sherman, Judy Michael, Yvonne Hampton, Lowell Sherman, Brenda (Gale) Dixon, Dick Sherman; father-in-law, Emerson Black Jr.; nephews, Jimmy, Scott, Tony, Greg, Aaron Sherman, Steve and Mark Tobias, Tim Tull; great-nephews, Clint Potter and Ryan Tobias.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at Grace Missionary Baptist Church 1301 Beacon St., Springfield, Ohio.
Funeral service will follow in the church with Pastor David Cottrell officiating.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Missionary Baptist Church.
