URBANA - William "Bill" Joseph Atchison, 68, of Urbana, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022 in the Ohio State University Hospital, Wexner Center.
He was born Sept. 22, 1953 in Urbana, the son of the late Vaughn Robert and Vera Jean (Evans) Atchison. Bill was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Mechanicsburg. He retired after 40 years of service as plant manager from Johnson Welded Products. Bill enjoyed playing country and gospel music on his guitar and watching the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State University Buckeyes football. He loved fishing. Bill was a great father, and he loved his children. He always put his family first.
Bill is survived by his wife, Helen Atchison; children, William Joseph (Jeanie) Atchison Jr., Douglas (Diana) Walborn, Lori (Joel) Pearson, Tina (Kevin) Jones, Kimberly (Steve) Walborn and Bobbie Jo (Donnie) Lotter; siblings, Connie (Dave) Boggs, Judy (Mark) Lewis, Kathy Carrington, Danny (Lisa) Atchison; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Robert Atchison.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Lisa Atchison officiating. The use of face masks is highly encouraged.
Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Urbana, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 5900 Wilcox Place, Dublin, Ohio 43016.
