We were very sorry to learn of David's passing. He was a great neighbor while we lived on Chateau Dr. and we continued that friendship after our move to Florida. He was always a gentle man and a Gentleman. We hope that your memories will help you through this time of loss.
With Love, Marion & John Daum and Laurie (Hauf).

I had him at Columbus school for 6th grade. I have told my family how he would call me "fudge" because any of the holiday parties we had that's what he asked me to bring in. He was definitely the best teacher I ever had and I have great memories of that year because of him. To his family what a great man you had in your lives. I'm very sorry for your loss.

To the Fleishman family- I had the honor to have your father as my sixth grade teacher. He inspired so many of us at Columbus School in Rome. He made us better students, citizens and now grown ups as his lessons stay with me even today. RIP Mr. Fleishman

I was among a group of grateful students in the 6th grade at Fort Stanwix School in Rome, NY. We were his first class. We had never seen anyone that big before, especially impressive since he was our first male teacher, who had a Marshal Dillion persona, especially since he had kicked down doors during the war. He made our last year at Fort Stanwix memorable and so much fun. He was our favorite teacher and we had many great ones. I am ever thankful for that year. It lives on in my memory and that of my classmates.
Bon Voyage Mr. Fleishman

He was my first male teacher - and one of the greatest teachers I ever had. He once said his students never brought him and apple, so our whole class brought in apples the next day. He took them home and his wife made them into an apple pie which he brought in and shared with us. I have fond memories of him. He will be missed. RIP. Abigail Otis Morton
