David R. Swanberg
Waterville
David R. Swanberg, 26, of Stafford Ave., died Friday, November 30, 2012, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. He was born March 4, 1986, in New Hartford, a son of Roger W. and Joyce E. Oma Swanberg. He was a graduate of Waterville High School and the Jacksonville (FL) Commercial Diving Academy. David was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, graduating from the Department of Homeland Security USCG Training Center. He was a Polar Bear member of the Realm of the Arctic Circle, by crossing the Arctic Circle during his service. He was planning on pursuing his pilot's license. David was a fun-loving enthusiastic outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, camping and running. He was also an animal lover. Surviving are his mother, Joyce Swanberg, of Waterville; his father, Roger Swanberg, of Long Lake; sisters and brother-in-law, Christianne and Guy Sterling, of Clayville, Kimberly and Eric Braunlich, of Barneveld, Laurie and John Kwasnik, of Earlville, Cindy and Patrick Cullen, of Greenville, NY, and Jennifer Swanberg, of Waterville; and uncle and aunt, Kenneth and Josephine Swanberg, of Moline, IL. He was also the favorite uncle of eighteen nieces and nephews who thought the world of him. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012, from the Southgate Ministries Church, North Main St., Waterville. The family will receive friends at the conclusion of the service. Interment with military honors will be in the Waterville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Syracuse Teen Challenge Rehabilitation Program, PO Box 72, Syracuse, NY 13205. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, NY 13480. Joyce, & family...So many loving thoughts & prayers are with you, sometimes in every day living you just learn to throw your pain the Lord above. I know at times it may seem tough... Please know your in my thoughts..there will always be , the not knowing the why of how things come to be.. there is a special angel who will help welcome David..
