Edward J. Connor
Sauquoit
Edward J. Connor, 91, formerly of West Winfield, passed away on December 12, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born in West Winfield on September 30, 1917, a son of the late Dennis J. and Emma Weigel Connor, and received his education in West Winfield schools. For many years, Ed owned and operated Connor's Farm Shop in Clayville and, prior to his retirement, worked in the parts department for P.N. Lewis Farm Machinery in Waterville. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Ed is survived by his three sons and their families, Dale and Sharon Connor, of Sauquoit, Dennis and Elaine Connor, of Brandon, FL, and Dean Connor and Elaine Smith, of Riverview, FL; their mother, Marie Connor, of Clinton; his brother, Lawrence Connor, of Utica; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Louie Connor, and four sisters, Marjorie Connor, Grace Waite, Mary Howard and Ann Curtis. Calling hours will be Monday from 5-7 at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St., Sauquoit. A prayer service will follow immediately at 7:00. Interment will be in Norwich Corners Cemetery. Donations in Ed's memory may be made to Sauquoit Valley Friends and Neighbors, P.O. Box 15, Clayville, NY 13322. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
