Edward G. Riecker
N. Utica
Edward G. Riecker, 62, of Deland Dr., N. Utica, passed away August 11, 2008, after a long illness. Edward was born August 15, 1945, in Utica, NY, the son of Richard and Patricia (Sheehan) Riecker. He was raised in Whitesboro and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. On September 26, 1981, at Ilion Methodist Church, Ed was married to Nancy Clark. For a number of years, until his retirement, he worked for the Utica Transit Authority as a driver. Prior to that, he worked for the Shortline Bus Co. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Whitesboro, and a former member of the Whitesboro Fire Department. Ed's proudest memories were watching both of his sons become Eagle Scouts. Ed is survived by his wife, Nancy; two sons, Brian R. and Kevin C. Riecker, both at home; a brother, Daniel Riecker, of Poland; and a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Jake and June Clark, and Jean Sterling. He also leaves a niece and nephew in California. Mr. Riecker's funeral will be held Friday, August 15, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. His burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Thursday (today) from 5-8. Donations in Ed's memory would be appreciated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Envelopes will be available.
