Rev. Robert Patrick Hosey, formerly of Sauquoit, NY, passed away at the age of 50 in Texas. Our Lord opened the Golden Gates and said, "You all can come in". Robert raised his hand and said, "I'll be the first one to enter". Robert suffered many years from the complication of "lupus". His family is left to mourn: his father, Robert Hosey, and his mother, Gloria Fernalld Hosey; his brother, Wayne (Mary); and his sisters, Sandy Romanick (Leo), Cathy Gornick (Jeff), Bonnie Hosey Perry, Sharon Hosey and Deanna Hosey. He also leaves a special Godchild, Andrea Sonderman; a special aunt, Roberta Sardina; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Robert was extremely artistic at a very early age. He studied art and entered many art shows and always won, including Munson Williams July Art Show. He graduated from Sauquoit Central School, entered college and received his Masters Degree. He furthered his education in England. He moved to Texas and studied hair styling. He furthered his studies in France and California and became very successful at hair styling and business. He owned and operated four beauty spas. He was a prominent platform artist for "Sebastion" for many years. Robert applied his talents in many cities throughout the United States, Mexico and Germany. As his health declined, Robert entered and studied at Chesterfield Academy to become a Minister. For the past 10 years, Robert enjoyed the ministry tremendously and it became the love of his life. Helping and counseling people, Robert ministered predominantly to the poor and underpriveledged, giving him great satisfaction. A Memorial Mass for Robert will be held at St. Joseph St. Patrick Church, 702 Columbia St., Utica, NY. "All are welcome."
