Timothy Powers Obituary

Timothy J. Powers 1956 - 2021
TOWN OF OHIO - Timothy J. Powers, 64, of State Route 365, Cold Brook, died unexpectedly on March 18, 2021.
Born on November 2, 1956, in Utica, Timothy was the son of Joyce (Coffin) and Robert Powers. He graduated from Poland Central School with the Class of 1975. Tim was employed as a Construction Supervisor for All-Rite Construction in NJ, until his debilitating stroke forced him to retire.
In earlier years, Tim played softball with area teams. He was a member of Squadron #1118 Sons of the American Legion, Cold Brook. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially loved sharing this passion with his grandson, Joey Koch. Tim had a very close bond with his mother, father and three sisters, who were extremely devoted to him. His sisters fondly referred to him as the "GPB". Humor was always the loving bond between Tim's parents and siblings and it made family gatherings special for all. There wasn't ever a dry eye to be had...not because of sorrow; but because of so much love and laughter. A special thank you is sent to his mom and sisters, for their love and care of Tim, especially in this past year. He loved his "two girls" and was a devoted "Papa" to his grandkids, Joey, Avy and Gabriella. Tim enjoyed spending his time at hunting camp with his second family, the Haver boys. He also leaves behind a special relationship with the Coffins and many fond memories at their family home.
Survivors of Tim, include his mother, Joyce Powers, of Barneveld; two daughters, Stefanie (Joseph) Koch, of Little Falls and Natalie Powers (John DeTraglia), of Clinton; three cherished grandchildren, Joey and Avy Koch and Gabriella DeTraglia; three sisters, Roberta (Kevin) Shields, of Remsen, Patricia Ree, of Barneveld and Millie (Fitz) Hardiman, of Barneveld; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and half-siblings. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Powers; and his grandparents.
Calling hours at the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport, are Tuesday, from 5-7 p.m. His funeral service will be private for family and close friends. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Kuyahoora Valley Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 244, Newport, NY 13416. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
