I know this post comes years late, as I just heard of his passing. I am sorry I never had the opportunity to express how much I appreciated his help directly.

Throughout the years, I have reflected on my childhood and those who made a difference in my life. Mr. Pearce is one of those individuals. He helped me through dark times, provided guidance, a safe learning space, and encouraged me when I fell behind.

Mr. Pearce was a kind soul with a big heart-a genuinely good person who cared about everyone. He was a true gift to the world.

I unfortunately just found out about Mr Pearce three years later. Mr Pearce was my freshman and jv coach. He was the most gentle soul and kind man. Mr Pearce was probably the most genuine teacher at MHS.

When I think of him now I see that big smile he always had. Before school would start he would hold court in the hallway for 5 to 10 of us. He would just be there for advice or provide encouragement.

I thought he exuded class and dignity and all of us at MHS were better for knowing him. My late condolences to all his family. Mr Pearce was the best! RIP

Nancy and Dan Jr, I know both of you from working at Pembroke Hospital. Your husband/dad was one of my favorite teachers (phys ed) at Marshfield High. I am sorry for your loss. Rick Pelland

What a wonderful guy Dan Pearce was in my life. I remember him fondly as an elementary gym teacher; babysat for his kids; and what a great HS basketball coach (dang, I always felt that I lost that last game, which he assured me was not my doing!).
Dan was also a wonderful and personable Counselor at Camp Daniel Webster over the years.
Rest in Peace my friend....
my love to your family.

Mr. Pearce was my favorite gym teacher. Gym was not my favorite as i could not run like others and was NOT athletic. However, he made me feel like i could do anything. He made me understand that what i could do was okay.

I send heartfelt condolences to the family. He was a wonderful man who made a difference in my life.

RIP Mr. Pearce

Mr. Pearce was the smile and personality that made MHS so great in the 90s. He helped me run many Homecoming pep rally's, and those are memories I'll have forever. He helped so many students choose the right path, and did it in such a positive upbeat way. If only the world had more men like him in it. My condolences to the family, and may you Rest In Peace Dan.

The stories of his dedication to those who needed his guidance the most (but not have asked for it directly) are inspiring to hear. A reminder that we all have the potential to positively influence another and maybe even change the course of their future for good. Thank you for teaching us to see the good in everyone.

Mr. Pearce was one of the nicest, thoughtful and caring people I've had the pleasure of knowing. He was the vice principal when I went to MHS. He left a mark on so many people. Up until a few years ago he would stop by my work while he was back in MA visiting just to say hi. He will be deeply missed and often remembered. Such a class act. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

This man was the sole reason I returned to school. I had dropped out my junior year and jumped from job to job. When I worked at Stop&Shop he came and saw me everyday along with Stew begging me to come back. They never gave up. Long story short... I went back to school and graduated with honors. In a way, he was and is a large part of what I have and what have become today. He is one of the great ones and will be missed.

Mr.Pearce influenced all four Connell children over the years at both the Furnace Brook School and then HighSchool, A great man and so talented at reasoning with unreasonable youths. My wife Shelby tells me that she also experienced assistance from Dan that helped her through some difficult situations...I think almost everyone I know has a Dan Pierce story and in every case he found a way to work things out.
Sincere sympathy to the Pearce family,

Mr. Pearce was a very nice man. He was a true professional and always worked with us "challenging" students with common sense. I'm sure you would hear more of these stories as people find out of his passing. Heaven is blessed with another angel. My condolences to the entire Pearce family.

I'll always remember Mr. Pearce as my neighbor first and VP second. He offered a smile, kind words, and guidance whenever I needed it. He was one of the only administrators to see through Brian's "difficulty with authority" and support him. I'm so sorry Mrs. Pearce, Laurie, and Dan. He truly was "one of the good guys". Love to you all. xo

Despite me being one of Marshfield High's "All Time Disruptive Students" Big Dan was always a great guy to me. We had many lengthy discussions in is office. He came to me several years after I started South Shore Dry Dock Marine and asked if I could help some troubled students that he didn't want to see fall thru the cracks. He said I could probably relate. He was right. He would send these kids over from the High School and they'd earn school credit working and learning at the boat yard. Schools today need more men like Dan Pearce. RIP Dan, you were one of the "Good Guys"
