David Lara Obituary
LA FERIA/SANTA ROSA, TX. - David Lara, 78, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He is survived by his Loving Family: Wife: Rufina Rodriguez Lara of La Feria, Daughter: Letty Canales of La Feria, Texas, and Granddaughter: Sandra Canales of La Feria, Texas, and other Grandchildren that they Raised: Yolanda Rodriguez of Hidalgo, Texas, Martha (Rafael Hurtado) Rodriguez, Juan (Vanessa) Rodriguez of La Feria, Texas, Carlos (Ilianna) Rodriguez of Hidalgo, Texas, Sister: Aurora (Baldemar) Trevino of La Feria, Texas, Brother: Felix (Hortencia) Lara of La Feria, Texas, 10 Great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take today, Sunday, April 27, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed tonight at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 28, 2008. We will depart Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace at 9:15 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Frances Catholic Church in La Feria, Texas. Interment will then follow at Heavenly Grace Cemetery in La Feria, Texas. Pallbearers are Juan Rodriguez, Carlos Rodriguez, Eluterio Ybarra, Noe Olivarez, Leo Olivarez and Mario Olivarez.
Mr. Lara was a very loving, caring, patient, and dedicated brother, son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a handyman and was always available to lend a helping hand. He was also a very honest and companionate person. He is and will forever be dearly loved and missed by all those knew him.

Our deepest sympathy goes to all the family. David was a great person and I had the pleasure of knowing him since I was very young. Thank-you for all the memories and wonderful friendship. I am Gloria-Jovita Rubio's daughter.
