I met Mr Mann when his son Fred and I were friends living on the WestBank of New Orleans in a small town of Marrero back in the early 60's What I remember most from that time was the Mann household was a welcoming and comfortable family home. I always felt welcome there. Mrs. Mann introduced me to iced coffee and I have a very clear memory of his son Fred getting into a little trouble regarding a telescope. He will have to share that event. I have a very clear memory of Mr. Mann in uniform standing in front of his home after he came home from work. Fred and Virginia have added several photos of their father at various milestones and events over the last few years, this has been gratefully appreciated. It has been an honor to have known him.

Sincerely
Bill Bartlett

My deepest condolences for the loss of your beloved father, father in law, grandfather and friend. It saddens me to know that he has passed away. I got to know and talk to him while at John Knox. He had a lot of interesting stories to tell and I loved listening to them. He would always say that everyone had a story and that everyone should write their own and if I needed any help in writing it he would help me. It was a pleasure having to get to know such a great, kind,
smart man. He was so proud to have served his country and for this I thanked at the end of my visits. God Bless.
