Hmmm..... What is there to say about my grandma? My grandma was an exceptional human. She had strength that some can consider hard to obtain. My grandma raised five children, had 3 to 5 different jobs besides taking care of the house and still managed to always have dinner ready for my grandpa before he came home from the work he did. While doing all these tasks, my grandma also worked at her father's bakery by washing all the dishes and cleaning it up so her father can have everything he needs to make what my mom would say, "the best bread in town." Not only was my grandmother a hard worker, she would spend time with all her grandchildren and support them in all activities they were involved in. With me, my grandmother would share family stories the way that were told by Tia Josefa G. Flores (1902-1982). Some of the stories that was shared included stories of how supposedly we were of royal blood and how our family was connected to both the Spanish Land Grants and to The Banco Longoria. However, my favorite story was the one of how her parents first met. Because my grandma was a great story teller, I became a family historian on the side. Not only do I enjoy the stories, I learned how to make some dishes my grandma used to make.
