James Servos Obituary

Harlingen, Texas - James "Jim" Servos, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Jim was born June 16, 1928 in Fontana, Kansas to the late Roy and Corrine Smith Servos.

In 1945, he graduated from Paola High School in Paola, Kansas. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1946 to 1951. He retired from Armour and Company after 40 years of dedicated service. Jim then went to work for the Gulf Packing Company for 16 years.

He was an active member of the First Christian Church since 1961, where he served as a church elder and was a member of the choir. In his leisure time, he enjoyed golf and softball.

Jim is survived by his wife Shirley; son, Jerry (Kristie) Servos; grandson, Wesley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial graveside service will take place Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Harlingen-Combes Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Coppins officiating. The American Vietnam Veterans Chapter 1 Honor Guard will render military honors.

Dick Ross, Sam Stith, Bud O'Rear, Charlie Booth, Vincent Sholl, and Gary Clemens will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Angelcare Haven, 2509 Clifford Drive, Harlingen, Texas 78550.

The family requests that all who attend the graveside service wear a facemask.
