I remember Father Felion and also his dog Rex (I was young), when he served at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Fosston Mn. He was a kind man, after all these many years my mother still speaks highly of him.

My Uncle, Father Jerome, was such a peaceful man, and I know that he is at now at peace with his Father. "I am leaving you with a gift, peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So do not be troubled or afraid."
John 14:27

I feel very blessed and honored to have known Father Jerry during his time at the Monastery in Rio Grande City. His homilies were always so sincere; he was a priest truly in love with our Lord, and I expect the angels sang when he finally came home. May our Lord bless him and all his loved ones during this next phase of life, eternal life.

I will forever cherish the moment I had with Fr. Jerry praying the Divine Mercy chaplet along with Sr. Aurora at his bedside on the last Saturday of his earthly pilgrimage and hearing him ask for forgiveness from Our Father! It was a grace-filled moment. I also had the privilege to caress and kiss his hands which had many times brought the Eucharist to this soul and countless others!! What a privilege to have known him as a fellow Benedictine Oblate who shared with us his "Joys and Sorrows". He will be missed greatly but I know that we will all have a more efficacious intercessor in heaven!

We are very sorry to hear about Fr. Jerry's passing, but we are sure he has passed into eternal happiness with Jesus in Heaven. He was a very good priest and a very kind man. We remember the beautiful way he would celebrate the Mass and his solid, educational homilies, especially during the noon Mass on Holy Days of Obligation at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harlingen. We are thankful for how generous Fr. Jerry was with his time -- and refused to accept even a gift of thanks -- while celebrating a special Mass for Valley youth at Our Lady Queen of the Universe in San Benito. We remember what a delight it was for us and our children to visit with Fr. Jerry when he served as the priest at the Benedictine Sisters of the Good Shepherd Monastery north of Rio Grande City. And it was inspiring to see him, even as he was having health problems, at Mass on Sundays and at the St. Anthony Catholic School Masses on Friday mornings, as recently as two weeks ago. For a "retired" priest, he sure did a lot, and always seemed cheerful, friendly and welcoming. He was a good one, a very good one! May God forever bless Fr. Jerry and the Felion family.
