Robert McCune Obituary

Robert Lee
McCune
BROWNSVILLE, TX. -
Robert Lee McCune, 52, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Thursday, August 21, 2008, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.
He was born and raised in Harlingen, where he graduated from Harlingen High School and attended TSC in Brownsville until finding his true life's calling, being a devoted husband, and loving father. He was never a man of many words, usually chose to be ``the voice talking behind mom on the phone,'' but the only words he made sure his family heard clear were ``I love you.`` He was a exceptional father and coach who enjoyed going to work everyday, all day, playing darts, going hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Today we mourn his loss but today, tomorrow and always will he hear, ``We love you too.''
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Aldah Clementine Morgan and Audie Lee Morgan and paternal grand mother, Clara McCune.
He is survived by his wife, Mary M. McCune of Browns-ville, TX, sons: Morgan D. (Jo Anna Sanchez) McCune, of Houston, TX, Micheil D. McCune of Brownsville, TX, parents, Betty Jean McCune and Gerald R. McCune of San Benito, TX, sisters, Judy Ann Milton and Jenabeth Adkins, sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Visitation and gathering will be held at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a funeral service at 7 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Knight and Gary Gray officiating. Cremation will follow.
Honorary pall bears will be Morgan and Micheil McCune, Ray Sanford, Roy Knight, Matt Knight, KennKade Sanford, Tim Soldat, David Biddy, J.D Milton, Matt Hubert and Gary Gray.

To the McCune family- Times like these are never easy. We can never understand why God has chosen to call someone who has so much to give and share. Mine and my family's lives have been enriched for knowing Robert all these years. Many pleasant memories resurfaced today when I learned of his passing, and for as long as we have those memories, Robert will always be with us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
