Joel Katzin Obituary
Joel was born on February 18, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York. He met his wife at the University of Maryland, where he was studying for his Ph.D. in physics.
Joel was a professor at Florida Technological University (now the University of Central Florida) and later worked as a physicist for the Naval Research Laboratory and as a Senior Scientist for Boeing. He enjoyed participating in the Great Decisions lecture series, line dancing, playing bridge, and supporting the University of Michigan Wolverines.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty; his four daughters Jodi (Alan) Abramowitz, Nancy (Mike) Thrapp, Rebecca (Jonathan) Cohen, and Anna (Gunnar) Burling; and seven grandchildren.
