Marilyn Stringfellow Obituary

Marilyn J. Stringfellow, aged 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana.

Born on October 21, 1931, in Keokuk, IA, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eva (Wallace) Young. She graduated from Keokuk High School in 1949.

On June 3, 1951, Marilyn married her high school sweetheart Jerry D. Stringfellow in Keokuk, IA. He survives. Marilyn and Jerry enjoyed 73 years as a married couple, living in five different states and raising four wonderful children.

Marilyn was first and foremost a wife, mother, and homemaker, but later became an astute realtor/broker for Century 21 in Logansport, IN. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, entertaining, and playing games. She was very competitive, loved to win, and did so frequently. Marilyn loved the warm sunshine and was always happiest at the beach.

Surviving along with her husband are her children: Rick (Linda) Stringfellow of Morgantown, IN, Jim (Patty) Stringfellow of Frankfort, IN, David (Terri) Stringfellow of Thornton, CO, and Julie (Bryan) Scott of Lafayette, IN, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one brother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons, a brother and two sisters.

Marilyn will be remembered for her laughter, generosity, competitiveness, kind-heartedness, and sense of fun. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who held her dear, and others whose lives she touched with gifts from the heart.
