Norma Bastable Obituary

Norma A. Bastable, 90, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022, in Venice, Fla. She was born in Manhattan, N.Y., to Patrick and Grace Devaney on October 25, 1931, and was one of 13 children. Norma married her husband Joseph Bastable, in 1955. She and Joseph relocated from Little Ferry, N.J., to Venice, in 1982. Norma retired from Westvaco in 1981 and then the Arch Diocese of Venice.

Norma will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Avid cook and baker and loved anything Irish.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Joseph Bastable, her parents Patrick and Grace Devaney.

Norma is survived by son Joseph and wife Mary, grandchildren Jordan and Christopher of Oradell, N.J., her brothers Thomas, Roy and Peter Devaney and sister Barbara Riordan.
