Mr Walmsley will always be my favorite teacher..he made math fun and helped me by tutoring me before and after school never ever making me feel silly for not knowing math. I ended up becoming a teacher inspired by his impact on me to be the same kind of teacher...he inspired me and was in the classroom how I always wanted to be! He made jokes in class and had an awesome sense of humor. I always laughed and enjoyed his class more than any other..I graduated Venice Hs in 92 w an A in Trigonometry and Analytics geo and it was by his calm explanations I did it!! RIp Mr Walmsley:)) Prayers for the family as you remember him

I was a student of Mr. Walmsley (twice!) when I attended Venice High School in the late 1980s. I enjoyed his geometry class so much, I made sure to get him for trigonometry, too. I loved how he made math entertaining and interesting, but he also liked to start his lessons with a fun bit of trivia, an important life lesson, or a great joke. It was because of him that I excelled at math and almost became a math major in college, though I did settle into the math-heavy field of astrophysics. I have him to thank for such a great mathematical foundation, and truly believe that I would not be where I am today without having had him as a teacher. For several years after graduation, I would go back to VHS just to say hi. I wish I could have spoke to him more recently to tell him what an impact he had on me. I hope these words in some small way help his family as they grieve..knowing that he will live on in the hearts and minds of so many he has touched.

Robert was our next door neighbor back in the mid 80's and also a patient at our dental office. I admired Bobs love for the Lord. My wife Peggy and I could not have asked for a better neighbor back when we lived in South Venice. It is so reassuring to know that there will be a reunion again some day in glory. Bob will be greatly missed. He was the epitome of how a Christian should live their life ! My prayers go out to his family. Kurk

To the Walmsley family,

Bob was a colleague of mine at Venice High School and was admired by the faculty and students. He was such a great teacher to my children Matthew and Nichol Porcelli. They respected him immensely as did I!
My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. He was such a kind man. RIP Bob.
