On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, our beloved mother, Alice, passed away at home after a brief illness at the young age of 90. Alice was born February 18, 1928, in Ventura, California to Joe and Maria Trejo.

Alice was one of 15 children and grew up in Saticoy. She was a lifelong resident in Ventura. She graduated from Ventura High School in Ventura. While attending classes at Oxnard College and working at Jue's Bi-Rite Market in Saticoy, she met the love of her life, Vernon Raschke. Alice married Vernon on November 17, 1958.

Alice started her career with Ventura Unified School District volunteering at her children's school where they soon convinced Alice to apply for a permanent position and spent 10 years as the Assistant Manager in food service. She then spent the next 10 years caring for others as a caretaker. All of these jobs laid the foundation for what she loved to do most, care for her loved ones.

Alice was a devoted Catholic who enjoyed gardening, cooking, and her favorite being a homemaker. Nothing made Alice happier than an afternoon drive to her favorite place which was The Cross in Ventura, which overlooks the Ventura Botanical Gardens. She loved spending time looking after her children and grandchildren. She loved sharing memories of her early life with her husband, Vernon where they loved to dance and travel. Never one to slow down, Alice went on many travels to Europe; visiting Spain, France, Germany, Ireland, and Italy. Alice was an active strong-willed individual, who lived by the motto "Move it or lose it" and held true to this till the end of her days. She will forever be in our hearts.

Alice is survived by her son Richard and wife Karon Raschke (Lamoore, CA), son Eugene Herman and wife Robin Raschke (Lompoc, CA), daughter Annette Tussey (Ventura, CA) and son Chris Raschke (Ventura, CA); Grandchildren: Adrian Raschke, Chris (Jen) Raschke, Heather (Joey) Trahan, Sara (Jory) Friend, Samuel Tussey and Peter Tussey, Kenny Raschke, Kristoph Raschke, and Carly Raschke. Her 7 great grandchildren: Nathan, Austin, Justin, Briley, Hailey, Jocelyn, and Bryson. And also her siblings, Ruth Aguilar, Helen Monzon, John Trejo and George Trejo.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Raschke who passed on March 22, 1976, and remained in her heart; her parents Joe and Maria Trejo, her siblings:, Cora Macias, Josephine Trejo, Mary Louise Trejo, Lola Trejo, Martina Lopez, Pepe Trejo, Tony Trejo, Romeo Trejo, and Manuel Trejo.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Steven Barr & the Resident Staff at Midtown Medical Specialty Group as well as Dr. Shawn Patel for taking such wonderful care of our Mother.

Memorial service to celebrate Alice's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday May 12, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church, 10800 Henderson Rd, Ventura, CA 93004
