Santa Paula - Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Angie passed away peacefully at home, on December 29, 2019, at the age of 100. Angie was born on May 8, 1919 in El Rio, CA.

Angie was a longtime resident of El Rio before moving to Los Angeles, CA where she worked for Motivational Fulfillment & Logistic Services for over 12 years. She returned to Ventura County where she retired in Santa Paula, CA. She loved to dance at family celebrations and gatherings. She took great pride in her immaculate home and yard. She enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting with her sisters, and having her weekend visits from Chacho.

Angie was welcomed to eternal rest by her daughter, Yolanda 'Nane' Vargas (and son-in-law, Ernie); her sons, Raymond 'Boy' Garcia and Albert Esparza; her granddaughter, Krystal Esparza; her parents, Adolfo and Francisca Velasquez; her brothers, Leon & Felix; and, her sisters, Bonnie, Lupe, Mary and Ernestine.

Angie blessed us all for a Century! She will forever be remembered by her children, Connie Rodriguez (Joey) of El Rio; Belia 'Reddy' Vega (Felix, deceased) of Santa Paula; and, Javier 'Chacho' Esparza (Donna) of Long Beach; her 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and, her beloved sister, Henrietta 'Ricky' Luna of El Rio; and, countless nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their thanks and sincere appreciation to Rafaela Rosales, Dora Hernandez and Teresa Soto for their loving care of Angie. We are truly grateful for the care you provided which allowed us to keep her at home. Additionally, appreciation is expressed to the staff of Roze Room Hospice for their compassionate attention during Angie's last months.

Funeral services will be held, on Tuesday, January 7th. A Rosary will begin at 9:30am on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020 with a funeral mass celebrated at 10:00am at Santa Clara Chapel, 1333 Ventura Blvd in Oxnard. Interment to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery, 2370 N. 'H' St. in Oxnard.
