Jorge Bermudez Obituary
Jorge Bermudez, 89, of Oxnard passed away on June 19, 2007, at his home in Oxnard.
Jorge was born on March 15, 1918, in Mexico, D.F. He lived and attended school in El Paso, Texas for many years. He came to Ventura county in the 1940s and settled in Oxnard. He was employed as a mechanic at Wallace Machinery from 1944 until his retirement in 1980.
He was a very active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish for many years. Through the parish he was active as the president of the Parents Club at Our Lady of Guadalupe School and the Brown Bag Food Distribution Program. He also participated in organizations such as the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, the Community Service Organization, and La Colonia Oxnard Neighborhood Council.
Jorge was preceded in death by his wife, Eulalia "Lala" Bermudez; father, Pedro Bermudez; mother, Maria Belmonte; brother, Ignacio Bermudez; and granddaughter Cassandra Nicole Bermudez.
Jorge is survived by his sons, Jorge Mario Bermudez (wife Anna), Oscar Bermudez (wife Mary, Ricardo Bermudez, and Edward Bermudez (wife Maria Y.); daughter, Laura Bermudez; grandchildren, Robert, Andrea and Alicia Bermudez, O.J. and Monica Bermudez, Elsa Ortega, Ramon Ortega, Andy Romero, Angel Romero, Bianca Nicole, Eddie Ray, Angel Rene and Matthew Joseph Bermudez; and great-granddaughters, Eva Marie Nava, Isabella Renae Romero, and Ava Jacquez.
Visitation will be held from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday, June 24, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 25 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.

Bermudez Family,
My prayers and thoughts are with you all. I'll always remember both your parents, whenever they were able to help their friends, even if it was just a word of advice, they were always there. I remember running with Eddie to his home after inviting me to lunch during lunch break at Guadalupe school and his mom was always so caring. Eddie's dad use to come home for lunch also and he was always very kind. I'll always cherish how much they made me feel like their home was mine.

Oscar and Family I'm very sorry for your loss. Cherish all the wonderful memories he has left all of you. I also have memrories of Mr B from Guadalupe School where we went as kids, and thru out the years I was furtunate to have kept the friendship with both your parents. Dad,Thank you for all the great memories that you have left my family and I in the last 15 month's while we have been together.
