Cmdr. Joseph T. Glab (USN Ret.)

On November 5, 2015, Commander Joseph T. Glab, United States Navy (Ret.), joined members of The Greatest Generation as they enjoy their heavenly reward for having saved the world through their service to our nation in World War II.

Joe, born in Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin, joined the Navy as teenager when the winds of war were looming. He was sent to officers' training school and subsequently to flight school, becoming a commissioned Navy pilot who flew in both theaters of operation.

After the war, Joe was sent back to college to complete his education at Marquette University where he met and married Lois Kohl of Chicago. Joe was a docent coordinator at the Ronald Reagan Library for twenty years and a thirty-year Camarillo resident. He was an incredibly charming man with his bright blue eyes, warm smile and generous praise.

Joe is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Lois D. Glab of Camarillo, children; Dawn Hadley (Jim) of Somis, Corey (Jennifer) of Prior Lake, MN and Kevin of Los Angeles, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bartholomew and Mary Glab of Hazelhurst, WI as well as his sisters; Anna Kairis, Veronica Benbenek and Helen Conti.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 4 at Padre Serra Parish, 5205 Upland Rd., Camarillo. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, also at Padre Serra Parish, with a reception immediately following at the home of Jim and Dawn Hadley in Somis.

Joe will be interred with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery for his thirty years of service to his country.
