Kirk Rudulph Keeter passed away of a sudden illness on Dec. 21, 2011.
Kirk was a lifelong resident of Ventura County. He was born Jan. 5, 1949, in Ventura and grew up in Casitas Springs. Graduated from Ventura High School in 1967 and served four years in the U.S. Navy. Kirk was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and Security Supervisor at California Amplifier. Kirk retired in Kingman, Ariz., in 2003 and worked part-time at Wal-Mart. He loved the outdoors, country music, football, NASCAR, reading novels and playing softball. Since moving to Arizona Kirk enjoyed his life along the Colorado River, camping, firearms and riding his ATV throughout NW Arizona and ghost towns of Nevada with his brothers and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his devoted father, Weast Austin Keeter.
Survived by his loving mother, Patricia Keeter Beckner of Arizona; brothers, Rod Keeter of Arizona, Weast Keeter, Jr. of Oxnard and Armand Keeter of Casitas Springs; sisters, Gayle Jackman of Nevada and Kathy Cockrell of Ventura; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, at First Baptist Church of Casitas Springs, 9000 Nye Road. Tom Copass will be officiating. Following the service will be a get together and potluck provided by the church.

Representing Kirk's VHS 1967 classmates, I am sorry to hear of his passsing and sorry he will not have the opportunity to attend our 45th reunion this July. His death will be posted on our Class web site at venturahigh1967.com.
