Philip Archambault Obituary

Philip Edmond Archambault

Fillmore, CA

Philip Edmond Archambault, 77, passed peacefully surrounded by family at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, following a sudden illness on Monday, October 16, 2017.

Born February 7, 1940, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Philip was the son of Camille and Madeline Archambault. He precedes his brother, Richard Archambault; and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Ann (D'Ambra) Archambault; his four sons and their spouses, Gregory and Sharon Archambault, Philip and Wendy Archambault, Glenn and Elizabeth Archambault, and Todd Archambault; along with nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Philip was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He joined in 1958, serving aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard aircraft carrier as a radio/telegraph operator. In 1962 Philip received an Honorary Discharge from the Navy and entered Clark University of Worcester, MA, studying a wide array of topics.

After Clark University he applied his eclectic education to the burgeoning world of computers where he pioneered the field of software analysts; developing and implementing financial software systems for Fortune 500 companies throughout the world. He later founded his own computer software company.

Philip, along with his wife were avid world travelers with an immense love of art and culture. He passed his love of diverse arts and cultures onto his children and grandchildren through both artworks and mementos collected across the globe. His passion for travel also resulted in a lifetime interest in Bonsai.

He remained passionate in the Catholic Church, serving as a deacon and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Above all else, Philip is remembered as husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

My condolences and prayers go out to the Archambault Family .Having known Archie since he moved to Spencer at the age of 15 and living across the lake from each other, we had many wonderful moments. His sense of humor was outstanding and usually enjoyed a good joke. He cherished his first car a black Plymouth which he drove to school and work in. We had mane an interesting ride in that car. About 35 years ago, Archie came to Houston on business and we had diner , a toddy and many laughs and many stories. It was an evening I could never forget. Then we lost tt\rack until about a year ago, we talked for about 30 minutes about our families. Archie was an old Friend, someone I could never forget. Bill Bourgeois Houston, TX)
