Sande Loux died at 2:40 p.m. on Feb. 18, 2008, due to pancreatic cancer.
She was a victim of polio; a breast cancer survivor; widowed at a young age to raise three bright young children on her own, Sandra was never a stranger to adversity. But Sande, as her friends knew her, never gave into self-pity. She was a strong-willed woman who put herself through college, a self-taught seamstress, a manicurist, a single mother much beloved by her family, her friends, and most especially by her three children.
Anything Sande put her hand, head or heart to she could master and flourish. Her strength, her courage, Sande's incredible passion for life encompassed hobbies risky even for the able-bodied; they included scuba diving, parasailing and bicycling. She was a loving compassionate, deeply spiritual woman, honest and loyal, and her kindness and wisdom will be missed.
Sande was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Migge.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Heath and Diane Loux; daughter and son-in-law Shelia Loux and Chad Goodell; daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Michael Benkel; grandchildren, Zackary, Jackson, Heath, Blake and Connor; partner in life, Bruce Bowen; mother, Frances Migge; brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Mary Migge; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Sande Loux will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Riverlake Community Church in Bakersfield. A reception will follow.
Sande's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Hoffman Hospice and CBCC for all their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages that donations be sent in memory of Sandra Loux to http://pancan.org or to Hoffman Hospice of Bakersfield.

Dear Family, We are so terribly saddened to hear of Sande's death. She was such a special person, as you all know! Her strong nature and constant determination in addition to her beautiful smile and caring heart are wonderful memories for us all to have. She was always up to the next challenge. Raising kids, moving, bike riding and of course her beloved Corvette! We have such great memories of her strength. A truly inspiring woman. We are all blessed to have had her in our lives. Our very best wishes to all of you for wonderful, fond memories of this remarkable person. Much love, Ruthann and Jerry Feingold

I'm so sorry to hear of Sande's passing. My sincerest sympathies to you and your families for your loss. I first met Sande when we were both selling Avon and soon learned that we were neighbors. She was a beautiful, wonderful, true friend, and confidant (shared many stories while she did my nails). She will truly be missed.

My fondist memory of Sande and I are sitting on her back patio with a couple beers discussing the two great loves of our lives, Patty and Carrera. Now I know she and Patty are together and smiling. I'll miss you, girlfriend. Your Mom was a classy lady.
Sincerely,
Janice Jankowski

I am at such a loss with the news of Sande. I met her at the Veternarian on the Naval Base. I worked there and we became friends. She was exceptional as a person, dog lover and friend. She would always give so much. Bruce, do you still have the dogs?

My sincere sympathy goes to Sande's family and friend in their grief at Sande's passing. She was a talented manicurist who did excellent work. I enjoyed visiting with her at each appointment. Her happy laughter and delightful stories about her family and pets made one feel that she was a friend, not just a service provider.

The Jankowski family extends our deepest condolences to the Loux Clan. We spent alot of great years on Petrel Place with her and all of you kids and I especially have alot of great memeories from those times with her and all of you. She was a fine lady that was exetremly strong in mind, body and heart....as I am sure you kids will carry that with you always. She was the kind of lady that if you asked her she would tell you, whether you liked the answer or not, and that is becoming an almost non-existant trait in times we live in. Well she is up there with my mom and dad too now. We all loved Sandra and you will be missed.
God bless all of you kids,
Love Rob Jankowski, my wife Delphie and the rest of the Jankowski Clan

Sande and I have been Friends for over 30 years, If I had a sister I would want it to be Sande. She was up with me all night doing the food and decorations for my oldest daughters Susan's wedding, she was always there when you needed her and was always a shoulder when you needed that also. We were both single moms and loved our children very much, she was such a good mother, I know it was hard for both of us working two jobs to keeps up with the needs of three gowing children, I know it was hard to be there all the time like she would have liked for the Kids, but she raised three wonderful children. I have so many memories of the good and bad times that we had, the good were far more than the bad, I have drapes, christmas tree skirts, stockings and towel and too many other things to mention that Sande made for me, That I will keep close to my heart and remember he each and everytime I look at them. I just wish that she could have stayed with us longer, I will miss her so very much. But I know that she has had a lot of pain the the last few years and she is now in a better place with no pain. My heart and loves goes out to Heath, Sheila, Jessie and to Bruce. She loved all of you so very much and was proud of each and everyone of you.
If you need anything please let me know. All my Love Lucille (McCorkle) Wickson and my Husband Jack, will miss her also, she helped him quit chewing his finger nails down the the quick by putting an overlay on his nails, that was 23 years ago and he still does not chew his nails thanks to Sande.
Sande, I will always love you Lucille
